White Doves: A new ballet for Belfast with music by Amelia Clarkson
The MAC (Metropolitan Arts Centre)

Six Dance Collective presents a first of its kind new dance work featuring a new score by CMC Composer Amelia Clarkson.
Fresh and alight with hope, White Doves gazes back on our history to look towards the future. Through new dance and music, the story of the formation of The Peace People is brought to life, woven together by two Doves. The production takes audiences back to summer of 1976 to follow Mairead, Betty, Ciaran and the people of Belfast on their journey towards the first March for Peace.
Choreographed by local choreographer Ruaidhrí Maguire, the performance is led by two international ballet soloists joined on stage by a company of pre-professional dancers from across the island. Local composer Amelia Clarkson’s new score is performed by classical musicians under the baton of Jonathan Mann.
Six Dance Collective gratefully acknowledge the support and assistance from the Peace People in creating this production.
Age guidance: 10+. Parental Guidance is recommended. The performance includes stylised abstract depictions of the Northern Ireland conflict.
The production includes haze/smoke effects.
