The Contemporary Music Centre was proud to be the host of the 2010 annual conference of the International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC) from 9-12 June. This was the first time that the association had met in Ireland and it was the highlight of CMC's programme for the year.

Delegates attended from Music Information Centres in 26 countries all around Europe, North America and Australia for four days of meetings, talks, networking and social events. While much of the conference is taken up with the internal business of the Association, at least one day is always open to the public so that the local music and arts community have the opportunity to network with the international visitors. This year a public conference on The Future of Music in the Digital World took place in Dublin Castle on Friday, 11 June.

IAMIC is a world-wide network of organisations that document and promote the music of our time, currently supporting the work of 39 member organisations in 37 countries. Each Music Information Centre promotes and documents the music of its own country or region across a variety of musical genres and IAMIC as an umbrella body works to promote international exchange on issues of common concern and brings these organisations together for collective projects.
