CMC hosts a music workshop on 13 April to mark Handel Day.

Composer George Higgs gives a workshop on the use of theme and variation in music from the baroque to the present day in the Contemporary Music Centre on 13 April. It takes place as part of In Handel's Day, the annual celebration of the first performance of Handel's Messiah in Fishamble Street in 1742.

The workshop, which is for adults and is repeated at 11.00 and 14.30, will include examples from traditional scores and demonstrations of the latest music technology. A discussion follows comparing conventional methods of composition and the modern use of electronics.

Presented by Temple Bar Cultural Trust in association with The Contemporary Music Centre. Tickets are free but booking is required.
