The Clare Memory Orchestra perform a new work by Dave Flynn

Established in 2012 by composer and guitarist Dave Flynn, the Clare Memory Orchestra is a unique orchestra which combines some of Ireland’s leading traditional and classical musicians. The group performs from memory and includes renowned trad duo Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill as artists in association.

On 18 October, the orchestra perform a concert at Glór, Ennis, and the programme includes two works by Dave Flynn - his Clare Concerto from 2013, and a new work commissioned by the Arts Office of Clare County Council, Mná Brian Ború.

Described as an original take on Ireland’s legendary High King as told through the voices of the most important women in his life, the work includes lyrics by Pádraic Ó’Beirn and Irish translations by Billy Mag Fhloinn.
