Ian Wilson’s new CD ‘Stations’ launched on 13 April

unnamed

The disc featuring pianist Matthew Schellhorn’s performance of Ian Wilson’s 72-minute work for solo piano will be launched at the Hugh Lane gallery following a performance at work, which takes place at 12pm as part of the Sundays @ Noon concert series.

Inspired by the Catholic devotion, a narrative in fourteen scenes relating to the events leading from Christ’s death sentence to his entombment, Stations was composed in 2006–07 for British pianist Matthew Schellhorn, who gave its first complete performance in 2009.

The performance on 13 April also forms part of a concert tour which will see performances of the work in 9 venues throughout the UK between April and July. Further information on the performances are available from CMC’s calendar or from matthewschellhorn.com

The CD is available to purchase from CMC’s Shop or direct from Diatribe Records.
