The Contemporary Music Centre announces the appointment of Evonne Ferguson to the post of Director.

Evonne Ferguson

The Board of Directors of the Contemporary Music Centre has announced the appointment of Evonne Ferguson to the post of Director. She succeeds Eve O'Kelly who stepped down at the end of June to pursue a freelance career in cultural management and research.

Evonne Ferguson’s passion for contemporary music was awakened during a BA in Music and English at University College Dublin and fully embraced during a Masters in Music & Media Technology in Trinity College Dublin.  A producer with RTÉ lyric fm for almost seven years, she produced the Horizons programme, live recordings of new works and reactivated the Irish entry to the international Rostrum of Composers of the International Music Council.  Since 2005, Evonne has been the driving force behind the establishment of a successful music education service in County Donegal, led by the local VEC.

Evonne is looking forward to working with the motivated staff of the Contemporary Music Centre and the experienced board of directors, to further nurture the composition and performance of contemporary music in Ireland. She takes up her post on 3 August 2010.
