CMC launches its Choral Catalogue for Children's and Female Voices

choirland-catalogueThe catalogue, which was be launched at the Association of Irish Choirs’ (AOIC) conference: Limerick Sings on 31 May, is curated by choral conductor Anne Barry and features a selection of works chosen by her from CMC’s collection.

In recent years CMC has experienced an increased engagement by choral conductors (of all forces) with its library of choral works. It is hoped that the catalogue of original choral compositions and arrangements by Irish composers will offer guidance to conductors, choral directors, teachers and singers in the search for new repertoire among the hidden gems of Irish Choral music.

As well as the launch, Anne Barry led a choral group in a workshop demonstrating some of the works. There was also be a panel discussion on Irish choral music and composers in partnership with CMC, with composer Rhona Clarke leading an exploration of some key Irish composers’ work and giving participants an overview of Irish choral composition over the past century.

The catalogue is available at the event and is also available in pdf format on our website.
