Mary Dullea launches an album of new Irish piano music on 4 December

Dullea,Mary_Gothic-New+Piano+Music+from+Ireland_809730854927The Contemporary Music Centre and the Association of Irish Composers present the launch of Mary Dullea's new album Gothic, a CD of new piano music from Ireland. The album features works by Ed Bennett, David Fennessy, Frank Lyons, John McLachlan, Gráinne Mulvey and others, and is being released on Métier Divine Art. In the words of the performer, "it is a result of relationships built and developed over two decades and presents a wide range of sonorities, inspirations and exploration of the role of the performer."

The launch and concert takes place at the Kevin Barry Room, National Concert Hall at 7pm on 4 December, and is followed by a concert of music from the album as part of the AIC's Irish Canon series. This concert also marks the birthday of composer (and past AIC Executive Director) John McLachlan.
