Meet the Composer: Seán Doherty

We profile some of the composers who have been accepted for CMC representation over the last year.

Seán Doherty studied music at St John's College, University of Cambridge and at Trinity College Dublin. His awards include the Jerome Hynes Young Composers’ Competition, the Feis Ceoil Choral composition competition, the St Giles' Cathedral composition competition, the Choir and Organ Magazine composition competition, and the West Cork Chamber Music Festival's Young Composers' Bursary. His work Fugue State (2013) for chamber ensemble was premiered by Susan Doyle (fl), Paul Roe (cl), Ryan Molloy (pf) and Adrian Mantu (vc) at the Association of Irish Composers’ Project Evolution concert at Dublin City Gallery, the Hugh Lane on 12 January 2014.
