Fractal Dublin to tour a programme of contemporary Irish music

Fractal is a new music initiative set up this year by composer Anna Murray and guitarist Philip Lawson, a performer who specialises in Irish contemporary music performance. Fractal aims to create new contexts for creating and performing new music, and creating multimedia experiences outside the formal concert hall setting.

Five new works by Irish composers including Anna Murray Garrett Sholdice, Francis Heery, written especially for Lawson, will be performed at venues across the country. Also on the programme are works by Benjamin Dwyer and Fergal Dowling. Each concert will also feature a different set of artists creating their unique visual interpretations of each work. The tour begins in the Centre for Creative Practices in Dublin on 9 November 2012, and will also visit Mayo (16th), Cork and Belfast.
