An end of year message from CMC Director, Evonne Ferguson

Evonne Ferguson with Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht

2011 has been a busy and productive year for CMC, as we celebrated our 25th anniversary with an innovative events programme which complimented our core services.

Through creative partnerships with many individuals and organisations, CMC was able to deliver exciting seminars, performances, launches, interviews, projects and more, reflecting the vibrant world of new Irish music. Highlights for 2011 are too numerous to mention!

The CMC Board, staff and I are proud to have launched the Irish Composers Project in May, delivered our first nationwide Solo Series tour in June, produced an engaging music trail in the summer, and launched the tenth volume of  our promotional CD series Contemporary Music from Ireland in December.

Thanks to all of you who have helped us make 2011 such a successful year for new music from Ireland.

Best wishes for a peaceful holiday season and a musically prosperous 2012.

Evonne Ferguson, Director
