The Irish Composers Collective presents Elizabeth Hilliard and David Bremner
Soprano Elizabeth Hilliard and pianist David Bremner return to the Irish Composers’ Collective monthly concert series this month to perform new works by member composers. Both regular performers at the series, Bremner is also a composer with the Collective. This month’s line-up of premieres includes work by Glen Austin, David Bremner, Massimo Davi, Richard Gill, Ryan Molloy and Peter Moran and the concert will take place in the Kevin Barry Room of the National Concert Hall, June 22, 2011 | 8.30pm (pre-concert talk 8.15pm).
Elizabeth Hilliard, soprano, is a member of both the National Chamber Choir of Ireland and Resurgam. She has performed with many of the leading ensembles in Ireland, including the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Irish Baroque Orchestra and the Crash Ensemble and in November 2010 she co-directed, with David Bremner, the Béal Festival, a two-day festival celebrating contemporary music and poetry.
David Bremner, pianist, has performed with many of Dublin’s leading ensembles, including the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and Crash Ensemble. In spring 2010 he accompanied Imelda Drumm and Julian Hubbard in a critically acclaimed tour by Opera Theatre Company of The Schumann Story and current projects with Elizabeth Hilliard include Béal, a music company, who presented a festival of new music and text in November 2010.
The Irish Composers’ Collective was founded in 2003 and is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing Irish composers with a community for information, education and the pooling of resources in order to create concerts of their music with professional musicians.
