Ergodos presents the Homburger/Guy duo on 29 October

guy:homThe concert is part of Ergodos’ Santa Rita series of concerts and takes place at The Little Museum of Dublin.

The duo, which consists of leading Baroque violin exponent Maya Homburger and composer and improvisor Barry Guy, will perform a programme of works by Baroque masters J.S. Bach, H.I.F. Biber, alongside works by Guy. They will also feature music from the Ergodos release, Star, composed by Benedict Schlepper-Connolly, Garrett Sholdice and Simon O’Connor.

The idea of performing Baroque solo works in the context of free improvised music and newly commissioned pieces sparked off the Homburger/Guy duo, and together Maya Homburger and Barry Guy have given concerts in many major jazz, new music and Baroque music festivals all over Europe. After living in Ireland for nine years, they moved to Switzerland in 2006. Homburger and Guy continue their strong links with Ireland by curating the Barrow River Arts Festival held in Carlow and Kilkenny each year.

The event begins with a wine reception at 7pm and pre-concert interview with the performers, followed by the performance at 8pm.
