Ann Cleare performances during November

Offaly-based composer Ann Cleare, who is currently undertaking a PhD in composition at Harvard University, will have performances of her work in Germany, Austria and the US.

The new music percussion and piano quartet Yarn/Wire perform her work I should live in wires for leaving you behind. The work, which was premiered by them in October at the Issue Project Room, receives its second performance at EMPAC on 15 November.

22 November sees the premiere of a new work, luna|lithe|lair, for Berlin-based Ensemble Mosaik, performed at the Bludenzer Tage zeitgemäßer Musik in Bludenz, Austria, followed by another premiere on 27 November in Mannheim, Germany - luna (the eye that opens the other eye) - for alto saxophone performed by Patrick Stadler.

Also in Germany on 28 November - this time in Karlsruhe - is the premiere by of Cleare’s eyam iv (Pluto’s farthest moons) for contrabass flute, ensemble, and electronics. The work will be performed at the the IMATRONIC, Festival of Electronic Music by Richard Craig and The Experimental Ensemble.
