Music in Ireland - 1916 and beyond

A conference exploring the impact of the Easter Rising and subsequent events in Irish political and cultural history takes place from 22-24 April at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.

Music in Ireland - 1916 and beyond examines the period and its legacy through in a series of papers on themes including music and politics; composer responses to political change; musical culture before, during and after the revolutionary years; music and memory; music and commemoration; and, music and the Great War.

The conference is held in association with the Society for Musicology in Ireland, will be hosted by the Research Foundation for Music in Ireland.
