Decibel perform new music by Irish composers in London
The concert, which takes place in London's Kings Place on Monday 11 March at 8pm, features a programme of works by Irish and British composers.
Described as a 'wild and diverse rhythmic extravaganza', the programme includes two pieces by the group's artistic director, Ed Bennett: Sometimes Everything Falls Apart, and the premiere of a new work for violin and ensemble. Also on the programme is Birmingham-based Irish composer Seán Clancy's I See Now Why People Hide and Damien Harron's So Macho, as well as works by British-based composers Joe Cutler, Laurence Crane, Howard Skempton and Michael Wolters.
Established in 2003 by Irish composer Ed Bennett, Decibel combine live performance with electronics and other media and have released two albums of Bennett's music, Dzama Stories (with saxophonist Paul Dunmall) and My Broken Machines. They have also performed works by composers such as Louis Andriessen, Heiner Goebbels and other internationally-renowned experimental composers.
