The Contemporary Music Centre presents its annual marathon of new music by student composers and performers as part of Waterford New Music Week 2014.

The free event, which takes place at the Waterford Institute of Technology on Friday, 21 March 2014 from 11.00–17.30pm features numerous concerts of new music throughout the day, programmed by composer and lecturer at Waterford Institute of Technology, Marian Ingoldsby.

Now in its ninth year, CMC’s New Music Marathon is a showcase for student composers from around Ireland, providing them with the opportunity to perform and hear each other’s music. As well as the host college, composition and performance students from all around Ireland will participate in the event, including the University of Ulster, Magee (Derry), Trinity College Dublin (TCD), NUI Maynooth, University of Limerick (UL), the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.
