SoundSet Strings presents Transfigured Night
On 28th October 2011 SoundSet Strings will present an evening of contemporary music for strings at 8pm in St. Ann's Church, Dawson Street, Dublin 2. The programme will feature Arnold Schoenberg’s ground-breaking work Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night). In addition to this, SoundSet has been collaborating with two Irish composers, Enda Bates and Emma O’Halloran, to premiere two new works on the night.
SoundSet are proud to announce that this concert has been completely funded by the public through a very successful Fund It campaign. Fund It is a crowd-funding platform that was launched earlier this year by Business to Arts, a non-profit organisation working to sustain and transform the cultural sector in Ireland. Fund It gives individuals the power to help good ideas happen, by allowing creative projects and initiatives with a specific fundraising goal to be promoted on their website for a defined period of time. The creators behind the approved projects promote the idea through their own networks, online and through traditional media with a view to attracting pledges in return for creative rewards.
Tickets: €15 (full)/€12 (concession) available at the door or to book email soundsetensemble@gmail.com
