Peter Moran is joint winner of the 2010 Carl Von Ossietzky Prize.
Peter Moran’s Guitar’s Trio Bommy has been awarded joint first prize at the 2010 Carl von Ossietzky international composition competition. Peter shares the prize with Italian Composer Beatrice Barazzoni. Now in the tenth year, this was the first occasion that the competition has called for compositions for guitar ensemble.
Based at the Institute for Music at the University of Oldenburg, Germany, this international competition had submissions from over ninety countries for the 2010 prize. Entries to the competition came from Europe, Canada, USA, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Australia, Japan and Malaysia. The international jury, consisted of Violeta Dinescu, Axel Weidenfeld, Christoph Keller, Siegrid Ernst, and Robert Reale. Peter is looking forward to the permiere performance of Bommy in Oldenburg next Summer.
