CMC Library Update for September and October 2014
This update from the library features some of the works added to its collection. During September and October, works from 20 different composers were added to the CMC online library catalogue. These include solo instrumental, ensemble, electro-acoustic, vocal, choral and orchestral works.
Rhona Clarke (1958-) The Small Hours
Premiered by Dermot Dunne (acc) with video on 27 April 2014 at Concorde: Up Close with Music, RHA Gallery, Dublin.
This is a collaboration with artist Marie Hanlon.
“The music is dark and slow moving expressing something of the unreality associated with the small hours. A sense of searching pervades the visual imagery, its fragmented sequences requiring the viewer to find points of connection.”

Premiered by Elaine Clark (vn) and video on 26 January 2014 at Concorde Up Close with Music, RHA Gallery, Dublin.
This is a suite for solo cello to accompany the play by Stephen MacDonald. Video by Bosnian video artist Adela Jusic.

Premiered by NUI Maynooth Ladies Choir, conductor David Connolly on 10 April 2014 at the Aula Maxima, NUI Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
This piece is a setting of the poem ‘A Crazed Girl’ by William Butler Yeats.
