Finding A Voice 2022 and CMC Ireland present the 5th Annual Composition Competition for Emerging Women Composers

Finding a Voice and the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland are delighted to announce details of the fifth Composition Competition for Emerging Women Composers in Ireland.

Once again, with the support of the Contemporary Music Centre, the composition competition will include a workshop for shortlisted candidates, offering a unique opportunity for professional development for both winning and shortlisted composers. This year’s workshop will be with renowned Australian flutist Lina Andonovska and the winning composition will be premiered at Finding a Voice Festival (3rd-8th March 2022) in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.

From the initial submissions, composers will be shortlisted for a workshop with Lina Andonovska in January 2022, hosted by the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland. Following the workshop, a winning composition will be selected by adjudicating composer Judith Ring and will be premiered by Lina Andonovska at the opening concert of Finding a Voice on Thursday 3rd March 2022.

We are thrilled to be able to partner with the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland for a third year to offer shortlisted candidates a workshop with Lina Andonovska. Lina is a wonderful performer, and this represents a great opportunity for emerging composers to work with her. Every year we have had an increased number of entries for this competition and I’m really looking forward to seeing what interesting new compositional voices emerge in 2022.
