Irish Composers present a night of installations and music this Friday
The Irish Composers' Collective present an unusual and unique event this week in association with music producers Ensemble Music. ICC TAKEOVER sees the Collective occupy a Georgian building on Merrion Square for a day, with installations and performances taking place in each room.
Installations include: a song cycle by Siobhra Quinlan; an exploration of film and music by multiple members; Silk, a sound, sculpture and spoken-word work by Maria Minguella; a collaboration between composer Breifne Holohan and artist Vivienne Byrne; Resonating Bodies, a performance exploring music and movement; a multimedia composition by Timothy Cape; a set of audience-interactive pieces by Peter Moran.
The night will finish up with a performance by contemporary ensemble and regular ICC collaborators Kirkos, of eight new works by ICC members Amy Rooney, Chris Moriarty Pearson, Christopher McAteer, Elis Czerniak, Raeghnya Zutshi, Sean O Dalaigh, Sorcha Coller and Susan Geaney. As well as the installations and performances, there will be a food and wine reception, with food from KC Peaches and lemonade from John Lemon.
ICC TAKEOVER takes place on Friday 13 November, beginning at 6pm, at the Irish Architectural Archive, 45 Merrion Square. Tickets cost €15 and are available from http://www.irishcomposerscollective.org/icc-takeover/
