The launch of Raymond Deane’s memoir and Noctuary CD takes place this month

The book, In My Own Light - A Memoir, will be launched on 22 May at the Irish Writers Centre with special guest Robert Ballagh.

Published by Liffey Press, the memoir chronicles the composer, author and political activist’s childhood in Achill Island, his adolescence in Dublin and years of composition study in Basel, Cologne, and Berlin, and his struggle with alcoholism during this period.

The launch coincides with the release of a CD of Raymond Deane's recent 12-part piano cycle, Noctuary, commissioned and performed by Hugh Tinney on the Resonus Classics label.
