A work for dance by Garret Sholdice will be performed at the York Spring Festival this week.

Garret Sholdice's ensemble Harmonium featuring Jonathan Sage (clarinet), vocalist Nora Ryan and the composer on piano perform his trio # 2 with choreography for two dancers by Danish choreographer Silja Thomsen.

The performance takes place in the Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall on Thursday, 13 May at 7.00pm, as part of the York Spring Festival of New Music.

On 22 June, the chamber choir The 24, fresh from a tour of China, will premiere a new setting by Sholdice of the Nunc Dimittis text in the University of York in a lunchtime concert. Directed by Graham Bier, the work will also feature a part for an instrumental quartet of cello, piano and Javanese gendérs performed by ensemble Harmonium.
