New Music Group Fractal perform a concert of Irish composers’ works as part of Culture Night

Fractal is a contemporary music production company dedicated to new Irish music set up by composer Anna Murray and Guitarist Philip Lawson. The company aims to bring a new collaborative approach to contemporary Irish music, fostering relationships with artists of other media.

The group will perform it first concert of music for guitar, electronics and visuals on 21 September at 8pm in the Centre for Creative Practices, Dublin, as part of Culture Night 2012. The concert will include new works specially commissioned for Philip Lawson by young composers Conal Ryan, Sebastian Adams, as well as works from Anna Murray, Dave Flynn and Fergal Dowling. Each piece will have accompanying visuals created by different visual artists.

Fractal is planning to tour the concert to a number of venues in Dublin, Castlebar and Cork, and is running a FundIt campaign to help cover the costs of the tour.
