CMC hosts a reception for the family and friends of Aloys Fleischmann, honouring his contribution to music in Ireland.

As part of the Fleischmann Centenary Programme in 2010, the Contemporary Music Centre welcomed members of the Fleischmann family and his former colleagues and friends to a reception on Friday, 19 February at 4.00pm.

Aloys Fleischmann (1910-1992) made a major contribution to the development of music in Ireland as composer, teacher and crusading member of many organisations and committees, among them the Arts Council. He was very supportive of the Contemporary Music Centre in its early years and is fondly remembered by many former students, friends and colleagues. This was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate his life during his centenary year.
