Dublin Sound Lab play Barry, Dowling and Nangle in Bucharest

The members of the electro-acoustic performance group Dublin Sound Lab will be traveling to the InnerSound International Arts Festival in Bucharest at the end of the month to represent Ireland with a programme of contemporary music for harpsichord and electronics, including a number of Irish works. Founders of the performance group, composer Fergal Dowling and organist Michael Quinn will perform the works, for a mixture of solo harpsichord, harpsichord and live electronics, and tape.

Programme: Kaija Saariaho – Jardin Secret II (harpsichord and tape)

Gerald Barry – Sur les Pointes (solo harpsichord)

Fergal Dowling – Sketch (harpsichord and computer)

William Byrd – Caleno Costure Me (solo harpsichord)

Jonathan Nangle – dying from the moment it’s struck (multichannel tape)

Jean-Claude Risset – Pentacle (harpsichord and tape)

The concert takes place at the Opera Studio of the National Music University in Bucharest on 28th August.
