The Dublin Biennial features a screening of three of CMC’s commissioned short films inspired by Joyce
The Dublin Biennial POP-UP is an International Contemporary Art Exhibition featuring 55 International and National Artists. The exhibition will be showcased at the Point Village, Dublin and will run from 15–24 June.
To mark Bloomsday on Saturday, 16 June, two of the short films which feature specially composed music by Irish composers will be screened: Rob Canning’s Myriorama, Benjamin Dwyer’s Afterjoyce I, and Vincent Kennedy's The Great Leveller. The films were originally commissioned as part of the ‘ReJoyce Dublin 2004 – Celebrating Bloomsday 100’ festival and were also recently screened as part of the Centre’s Music Tales project.
The screenings will be followed by a discussion on Joyce in music and film by composer Vincent Kennedy, Sean Walsh, Director of Bloom, and Professors Luke Gibbons and Gerry Kearns, of NUI Maynooth.
The event takes place from 5:30–7:00pm on 16 June.
