The Clare Memory Orchestra is an orchestra comprising traditional and classically trained musicians who, unlike a symphony or chamber orchestra, perform from memory without sheet-music.

Founded by composer Dave Flynn, the orchestra gives its inaugural concert on 21 September as part of Culture Night 2012. The free concert takes place in Glór, Ennis at 8pm and features Liz Carroll (fiddle), Mairtín O’Connor (accordion), Mick O’Brien (pipes), and Dave Flynn (guitar).

The concert will include the premiere of a new version of Dave Flynn’s fiddle concerto, Aontacht, performed by Liz Carroll, and an eclectic mix of music including classical works by Albeniz, Bach and Poulenc and a range of traditional tunes.
