New Dublin Voices win the Irish Contemporary Music award at the Cork International Choral Festival

New Dublin Voices smallThe choir directed by Bernie Sherlock won the award for their performance of Derry-born composer Seán Doherty’s A Nywe Werk.

Sponsored by CMC, the perpetual trophy is a special award for the performance of an original choral work by an Irish composer written after 1975 and chosen from CMC’s library collection.

New Dublin Voices also won the overall prize in the Fleischmann International Competition, becoming the first Irish choir in 17 years to win first prize.
