New work by David Stalling features in Tasmanian Festival.
New work by David Stalling in collaboration with Anthony Kelly features at Ten Days on the Island festival, Tasmania. Stalling and Kelly have been commissioned by Burnie City Council to create a new series of site-specific sonic outdoor installations to be shown as part of Ten Days on the Island, the premier celebration of culture in Tasmania. Stalling and Kelly will travel to Tasmania to partake in the festival and to mount their installations on the boardwalk at Burnie foreshore.
The commission conincides with the Shorelines touring exhibition, a creative exchange project between Newfoundland and Ireland, which has to date been shown in Newfoundland, Bary, Co. Wicklow and in Co. Kerry. This group show features Stalling and Kelly's collaborative audiovisual installation 'Fluctuations', on view to the public at Burnie City Arts Gallery, Tasmania from 19 March until 8 May 2011. Stalling and Kelly will also give a talk about their work and collaborative practice in the gallery on Saturday 19 March.
