‘Night Music’ is a new series of short concerts on the first Wednesday of the month at the MAC, Belfast involving top Irish and Northern Irish musicians. Presented by Moving On Music and Belfast Music Society in association with the MAC, the series features high quality chamber music presented in an informal setting, along with opportunities to eat, drink and meet the artists.

Following the launch in February of the first concert in the series, the second event on 5 March takes place from 8pm and includes a panel discussion at 8.15pm presented by CMC as part of its Resonating Now: New Music Voices programme. The performance follows at 9pm and combines familiar clarinet and piano masterpieces with new and contemporary works performed by acclaimed musicians Carol McGonnell (clarinet) and Finghin Collins (piano).

Works by Irish composers include Ann Cleare’s Eyam, and a new work by Ryan Molloy. Also on the programme is Alban Berg’s Four Pieces for clarinet and piano and Stockhausen Tierkreis.
