The Kilkenny Arts Festival sees a number of contemporary music events take place across the week from 9 – 18 August.
- Crash Ensemble play works by Michael Gordon, Donnacha Dennehy and Nico Muhly: 16 Aug, 8pm, St. Canice's Cathedral
- Courtney Orlando plays Gordon, Dennehy, Davidovsky, Andriessen and Berio: 17 Aug, 3pm, The Hole In the Wall.
- Ian Wilson's The Hours: 13 Aug, 1pm, St. John's Priory.
- Kaleidoscope Night present a mixed night: 12th Aug, 10pm, The Left Bank.
- Crash Ensemble Soundworks, a presentation of electroacoustic music: 10–11th Aug, 12–5pm, Aras na hOidreachta.

August Kaleidoscope features a premiere of a new work by Laura Sheeran for solo cello, as well as performances by Musici Ireland, Gregory Walkers and the Robinson Panoramic Quartet.

The Clare Memory Orchestra will premiere two new pieces by director Dave Flynn at the Feakle International Traditional Music Competition.
