Following an intensive period of policy development, Dublin City Council will launch its Public Art Programme April 12th.
The Dublin City Public Art Programme is designed to offer different kinds of opportunities for artists to make new artworks. The programme directly invites interaction between the artists, Dublin City Council and the city’s communities and localities. There is respect for the different ways in which artists work. The Dublin City Public Art Programme offers potential for the enduring artwork as well as temporary or time based work. There is scope for artists to present work to a wide audience. Equally, it is recognised that not all artworks need to have mass appeal and that those created within a community and locality can have impacts which are significant.
Further Information will be available on line from April 13th at www.dublincitypublicart.ie
