Rain Falling Up

The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and Wide Open Music perform a new work with music by Brian Irvine at the Convention Centre, Dublin at 12pm and 5pm on 10 November 2012.

Described as “A Modern Orchestral, Choral and Visual Performance for Children”, the concert will feature actor Pauline McGlynn as narrator, with words by John McIlduff and animation by Matthew Robins.

1000 school children from Carlow, Meath, Offaly, Dublin, Westmeath and Wicklow will join the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Fergus Sheil for the performance.

Two free pre-concert performances by the Julianstown Youth Orchestra will also takes place at 11.30am and 4.30pm, prior to the main concert. These performances will feature the premiere of Brian Irvine’s Monster Club Presents, a work specially-written for the Julianstown Youth Orchestra.

Rain Falling Up is presented by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and Wide Open Music, and supported by the Arts Council and local authorities in Carlow, Meath, Offaly, South Dublin, Westmeath and Wicklow.
