Young composer Sebastian Adams is a finalist in the Sorodha International Composition Competition
The Dublin-based young composer’s piece was selected for the final round of the Sorodha International Composition Competition in Belgium from over 100 applications. The prize is awarded for a work for solo violin and Adams’ work will be performed alongside the other seven finalists’ pieces in Antwerp on 25 March 2012. The piece will be performed by Colm Ó Braoin.
Sebastian Adams is currently in his second year of a BA in Composition at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where his teachers include Kevin O’Connell and Jonathan Nangle. He was the winner of the West Cork Chamber Music Festival’s composition competition in 2011.
He is one of the featured composers in the Crash Ensemble’s upcoming Free State 7 concert on 5 April 2012, where his work, Miniature for cello and piano, will be performed.
