The Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland and New Music Dublin are delighted to present the fifth New Music Dublin eXchange at New Music Dublin festival 2023

New Music Dublin eXchange (NMDX) is an international networking programme established to expand the reach of contemporary music from Ireland. NMDX facilitates essential connections between contemporary artists active in new music in Ireland and national and international delegates, including programmers, promoters and broadcasters, as well as representatives from some of the most significant contemporary music festivals and venues from across the globe.

NMDX has been embedded in New Music Dublin since its foundation and offers invited delegates the opportunity to engage directly with contemporary music artists through formal and informal meetings, and to attend exceptional live performances from the festival programme showcasing their music. This year’s NMDX will also feature an industry-focused panel on the international export of contemporary music chaired by Culture Ireland Associate Director, Ciaran Walsh.

Recent international connections which developed from NMDX include Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble’s performances at MUSICAHORA festival in Chile (2022) and an ongoing three year partnership between Culture Ireland and the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (HCMFUK).

This initiative is delivered by the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland and New Music Dublin. NMDX is principally funded by Culture Ireland, and supported by IMRO
