The Indigo Quartet from Italy plays Pushpulling by Donnacha Dennehy in Monaghan and Bray on 11 and 13 February.

Based in Italy, the quartet brings together Italian, Japanese, Moldovan and Irish musicians, the Irish representative being violinist Naomi Berrill.

Prizewinners in several prestigious international quartet competitions, their programme in Ireland sets the Dennehy piece, commissioned by the ConTempo quartet in 2007, alongside works by Haydn and Grieg.

A recent review for the Greig said: '...how they rocked.. string quartet no.1 in G-minor by Edvard Grieg was grooving so much that even the walls were digging it... completely mesmerizing fireworks from the four strings - just brilliant, and so enjoyable... Grieg's music at its best.' (Ttela newspaper, Vänersborg, Sweden, October 2009)
