John McLachlan Awarded CMC Residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris
Following a call among CMC-registered composers, John McLachlan has been selected for a residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais (CCI) in Paris.
This composer residency, in association with the Contemporary Music Centre, is part of the CCI’s annual residency programme (2022-23) and will enable the composer to spend time at the centre to develop new composition projects.
I'm truly delighted to be chosen for this residency. To be so fully supported in creating new work in this unbelievably stimulating environment is a privilege, one that I intend to make the most of.
The partnership between CMC and Centre Culturel Irlandais for this composer residency was established in 2015, and previous recipients include Greg Caffrey, Ailís Ní Riaín, Michael Gallen, Amanda Feery, Finola Merivale, David Coonan & Karen Power.
John McLachlan joins 38 other artists across different artistic backgrounds who will each spend from one to three months in Paris to develop their proposed projects.
