Hard Rain Soloists Ensemble debut performance

Hard RainThe debut performance of the newly-established Belfast-based Hard Rain Soloists ensemble will place works by composers Greg Caffrey and Ian Wilson alongside works by Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu.

Presented by Moving on Music as part of their music diversity project New Music for New Belfast, the concert takes place Upstairs at the MAC, Belfast on 21 September at 8pm.

Hard Rain was founded and directed by composer Greg Caffrey and is the first group in Northern Ireland devoted to the performance of contemporary music. The ensemble features performers known for their solo work as well as their interest in contemporary repertoire: Aisling Agnew (flute), Sarah Watts (clarinets), Gascia Ouzounian (violin), David McCann (cello) Ryan Molloy and Simon Mawhinney (piano). It aims is to present music by local composers alongside that of leading contemporary masters.
