CMC celebrates International Women's Day with a concert by the Girls’ Choir of St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral and Girls from Continuum Youth Choir

On the eve of International Women's Day 2019, a concert of choral music by women composers from the island of Ireland was presented by the Girls’ Choir of St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral and Girls from Continuum Youth Choir, conducted by Dr. Blánaid Murphy at City Hall, Dublin on 7 March 2019.

This Choral Celebration of the Creativity of Women and Girls, in partnership with the Contemporary Music Centre, commenced the 10th anniversary celebrations of the Girls’ Choir of St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, and featured choral works by Irene Buckley, Rhona Clarke, Eibhlís Farrell, Anne-Marie O’Farrell and Raeghnya Zutshi.

Special guest speakers included Lord Mayor of Dublin Nial Ring; Tania Banotti, Director of Creative Ireland; and featured composers in conversation with Evonne Ferguson, Director of the Contemporary Music Centre.
