Irish composers feature during the 10 Days in Dublin Festival
The 10 Days in Dublin Festival takes place between 4–13 July. Described as a multidisciplinary, open-format, arts festival, the festival features a range of performances in different venues across Dublin.
Irish composers feature in a number of events, including concerts by the Kirkos and Herbert Cello Ensembles.
The Kirkos Ensemble repeat their programme marking the 100th anniversary performance of the Rite of Spring on 11 July at 10pm at the Main Space at Smock Alley, Temple Bar. The concert features Stravinsky’s work re-imagined for string trio by fourteen Irish composers, including Gerald Barry, Raymond Deane, Andrew Hamilton and Garrett Sholdice, among others.
On 12 July the Herbert Cello Quartet perform a lunchtime concert, also in Smock Alley, featuring original works and arrangements of composer Michael Doherty’s works.
