Softday performances in November

It’s been a busy month for Softday (Seán Taylor and Mikael Fernström), just back from playing at Kubus ZKM in Karlsruhre Germany as prize winners in the Europe - A Sound Panorama, they performed their new collaborative work As Baile with the staff and students of the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, at the University of Limerick on Wednesday 2nd November.

On Friday 4th of November Softday perform another newly commissioned work 'Dancing at the crossroads of the End Times' for the opening of TULCA 2011 visual arts exhibition in Galway, before travelling to Cork for a unique event on Sunday 13th November when Softday will perform Re-Mediating Joris Ivens, on the main stage of the Cork Opera House. This specially commissioned performance in collaboration with Cork City Council, celebrates the work of the legendary Dutch filmmaker Joris Ivens(1898-1989). The screenings of his silent documentaries 'Rain' and 'The Bridge' will be accompanied by a new and contemporary soundtrack created for the evening by the Softday Foley Ensemble featuring Sean Taylor, Mikael Fernstrom, Foley artist Caoimhe Doyle and Foley recording artist Jean McGrath.
