The Galway Music Residency National Tour includes music by Jane O’Leary and Karen Power

The tour, inspired by Steve Reich’s work Different Trains, features a programme of works by Irish, American and German composers performed by The Galway Ensemble in Residence, ConTempo Quartet.

The programme includes Karen Power’s recently premiered hearing leaves, which was commissioned by the Galway Music Residency to celebrate their tenth anniversary in 2012, and Galway-based composer Jane O’Leary’s Mystic Play of Shadows from 1995. The performance culminates with Steve Reich’s seminal work for string quartet and tape Different Trains, alongside a creative visual interpretation by visual artist Mihai Cucu. Also on the programme is Beethoven's  Grosse Fugue .

The concerts take place during October in Galway (8th), Dublin (9th), Derry (10th) and Navan (16th).
