A new compilation of Irish electronic music will be launched by Diatribe Records on 23 November
The compilation, Tronix One, includes contributions from several Irish-based based electronic musicians, producers and composers including Cignol, Legion of One, h-ci, Linda Buckley, Enda Bates, David Donohoe, and ZoiD and Nick Roth.
The release from the Irish record label Diatribe is a compilation of highlights from the Diatribe Tronix series, an ongoing selection of electronic music from Ireland, which has been released in digital installments since January 2011. The emphasis of the series is to bring “artists from different musical regions together, from electro-acoustic to electronica, or improvised to techno to jazz, to collaborate or re-work each other’s material”.
The album will be released as a limited edition 12" LP at a live concert on 23 November 2012 in The Fumbally, Fumbally Lane, Dublin 8. Six live acts and two DJs will perform through the night, including, among others, Earráid - RTÉ lyric fm composer-in-residence Linda Buckley’s new project with improvising musicians Nick Roth and Matthew Jacobson - and Enda Bates, who will play new material for guitar and electronics.
Tickets for the launch are available on the door from 8pm and cost €5 before 9pm, or €10 after 9pm. The first 20 guests will also receive a free copy of the Tronix One LP.
The Tronix Series is supported by a Project Award from The Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon.
