Jump Up! Elaine Agnew’s Fanfare of welcome for conductor Alan Buribayev.
The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra's 2010-2011 Season, will open on Friday 10th of September 2010 at the National Concert Hall with a world premiere by Elaine Agnew, Jump Up!
To celebrate the tenure of RTE NSO’s new prinicpal conductor Alan Buribayev, Elaine has honoured him with a fanfare of welcome, Jump Up! Elaine explains this athletic title:
“Seeing Alan Buribayev in action (as a conductor) is like watching a dancer onstage. Full of energy and bounce, he reminded me of a visit to the Blue Mountains in Australia earlier this year, a mountain range known to aboriginals as Jump Up Land. Watching Alan at the podium immediately brought that spectacular image to mind, those stunning sculptured mountains with the blue hue of eucalyptus oil, their huge forms lungeing out from the earth's surface. “
Elaine Agnew was commissioned to write Jump Up! Fanfare of Welcome for Alan Buribayev, as RTÉ lyric fm Composer in Residence, in association with the RTÉ NSO.
