Laura Moody performs a new work by Garrett Sholdice on 8 May 2012
Ergodos, the new music production company run by composers Benedict Schlepper-Connolly and Garrett Sholdice, is bringing London musician Laura Moody to Dublin for a concert in the Grand Social on 8 May 2012. Moody’s style as a performer is defined by her ability to fuse elements of electronica, classical and pop, and to create a fluid and expansive soundscape that explores the full range of sounds, tones and textures that emerges from the meeting of voice and cello.
As well as her own music, Laura Moody will premiere a new piece by Garrett Sholdice called My Imagination. Sholdice is known for his passion for and exploration of the many facets of vocal music, often drawing inspiration from the works of past masters, such as Bach and Schubert. For this work, inspiration came from another singing cellist known for spanning the gaps between genres, disco and dance pioneer Arthur Russell.
Tickets for Laura Moody at the Grand Social cost €10 and are available here.
