Tue 1 Apr 2014
The two US-based Irish composers are among 27 young composers selected from over 600 submissions to receive the award, which will be presented at the annual ASCAP Concert Music Awards at Merkin Concert Hall in New York in May.
The annual ASCAP Foundation Young Composer program was dedicated to the memory of American composer Morton Gould following his death in 1996, recognising his lifelong commitment to encouraging young composers. Alex Dowling and Emma O’Halloran are currently doctoral fellows at Princeton University. More on the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Award
