Violinist Darragh Morgan curates a distinguished line-up in The Irish American series at Kings Place, London.

The Smith Quartet

The concert series (21-24 April) takes place under the title, The Irish American: American minimalists and Irish protagonists.

'Irish music has always played an important role in my life,' says Morgan. 'This week will see an extensive line-up of distinguished performers of traditional and contemporary Irish and American music.'

The series includes performances by the Crash Ensemble with Iarla O Lionard (Saturday 24 April) and the Smith Quartet (Wednesday 21 April and Thursday 22 April) as well as CoMA with conductor Gregory Rose (Thursday 22  April).

Other performances include the Fidelio Trio playing Bang on a Can Classics and, joined by uilleann piper Brian O hUiginn, a programme containing works by Roger Doyle, Mícheál  Súilleabháin and Dave Fennessy. A concert of traditional music from Ireland, Cyprus and Macedonia completes the series.
