Future of Music in the Digital World Conference

Reactions and coverage of CMC's conference on The Future of Music in the Digital World which took place on 11 June 2010.

The Future of Music in the Digital World took place as part of the Annual Meeting of the International Association of Music Information Centres hosted by CMC, for which delegates from 26 countries visited Ireland. Held in the historic surroundings of Dublin Castle on 11 June 2010, the conference within a conference saw IAMIC members joined by politicians, pundits, music industry figures and interested members of the public to debate the challenges that lie ahead as traditional models of music production, promotion, distribution and consumption falter and fail in the face of new digital delivery platforms.

The conference was very well received and succeeded in generating debate among those who were present, as well as sparking considerable interest online both during and after the conference.
